The objectives of this project were to weave & integrate the riverfront public park with the building, tell a narrative about the historic fishing port that once occupied the site, and create a flexible activity center for the local residents of Jiangyin. The first floor contains a café, teahouse, and administrative office. The second floor is designed as a dining hall with professional kitchen. The ground floor is connected to the roof level via an exterior circulation path looping around the building perimeter providing 360 degree views. Sustainable objectives include inhabitable public green roofs, rainwater collection/re-use, and sun-shading strategies for all façade orientations.
